JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading production work cell team(s) as follows:
• Manufacture products by supervising production personnel, organizing and monitoring workflow while following and administering company policies and procedures. Maintain the highest standards for quality, productivity & continuous improvement.
• Lead the implementation of management programs such as IRIS, Shop Floor Management, Andon System, Lean Manufacturing, KPS and others within the assigned areas.
• Assist, train & mentor Production teams.
• Assist in capacity analysis with Segment Operations Manager and MRP controllers for assigned supervisory area.
• Work with MRP controllers in their respective areas to plan and prepare production schedules for manufacture of KBC products: Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to customer orders.
• Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
• Meet or exceed all relevant KPI’s.
Safety:
• Lead teams in carrying out their safety responsibilities, ensure safety standards are met and maintained in the area
• Respect, drive and improve 5S program
• Lead the training of new employees and update work team on safety requirements/hazards in the work area
• Respond to identified safety issues immediately; address and resolve the issue taking prompt action to correct any unsafe act or condition.
Quality:
• Drive and Improve KPS standards within assigned teams.
• Work with organization to ensure all manufacturing documentation (Drawings, SOG, APT, TWI, KPS etc.) for job function is maintained.
• Collaborate with QA to determine missed non conformities in the work team, in order to identify, repair, and eliminate defects.
• Assist in investigating and correcting the root cause of all production related workmanship defects; assist in other investigations as required.
• Take action for the containment and repair of defects.
• Provide team members with training, assistance, coaching and mentoring on production process and quality standard
Receive feedback from team on ideas to improve production quality, work with manufacturing engineering to develop and implement plans and provide training to team.
• Assist work team and your supervisor in understanding defect/discrepancy trends and help to identify additional analysis to discover root cause.
• Monitor and report to supervisor the quality of the production process in the work team.
Delivery:
• Meet delivery timing expectations by coaching team members as well as participating with assembly & test requirements ensuring team completes required work.
• Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet customer expectations.
• Follow-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectation.
• Responsible for information transfer and follow up with others as appropriate.
• Develop strategies for improving overall workflow through process improvement, work cell content and new equipment installations.
• Investigate and correct (or initiate the process of) the root cause of all work productivity issues.
• Provide team members with training, assistance, coaching and mentoring on improving productivity processes, implement productivity improvements.
• Insure the visual KPI’S are maintained for the team.
• Develop and maintain multi-skilled knowledge of your assigned areas to support team members.
• Interact with other teams to share information, ideas and solutions.
• Assign workload to teams and prioritize important actions.
• Lead problem solving actions as necessary to meet quality and delivery requirements.
Cost:
• Plan effectively in effort to maximize manpower utilization.
• Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
• Manage equipment, tools, parts and materials to maintain functionality.
• Ensure product meets delivery requirements according to MPS and/or Planner requirements.
• Implement continuous improvements within assigned area to reduce overall product costs.
Management:
• Maintain positive relations with production teams; ensure consistency of policy administration within your assigned areas.

• Ensure effective company and departmental communications takes place within assigned group.
• Lead the hiring, performance evaluation and discipline processes within assigned areas.
• Ensure that team members are trained on and adhere to KPS process, SAP and CADim.
Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, Hydraulic, HVAC, Pneumatic certifications, or other manufacturing certifications.

High school diploma/GED or higher
Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
The base pay range for this role is $67,956.00- 76,451.00 USD. The company reasonably expects to pay within that range, however, Knorr Brake Company considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
