JOB DESCRIPTION:

This role manages the teams that repair and overhaul HVAC units both in the field and in the factory.  Key Tasks include:

  • Supervising production personnel, organizing and monitoring work flows while following and administering company policies and procedures. Maintain the highest standards for quality, productivity & continuous improvement.
  • Supervising Field Service Technicians by assigning daily workload and following up/assisting with any issues or problems generated from their assignments. 
  • Assist, train and mentor production and field service teams
  • Assist in capacity analysis for the supervised areas

  3. Must understand and comply with applicable standards. ( i.e.: ISO 9001, ISO 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, AAR, and CMMI).
  4. Maintain and safeguard business records.

  1. Scheduling of workload for the FS Technicians, as well as, following up/assist on issues and or problems that are generated in their respective assignments.
  2. Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet production schedules
  3. Create and issue reports, Field Problem Resolutions, etc. to appropriate Merak Departments.
  4. Oversee training of Assigned Members to Site/Group.
  5. Assist engineering in special projects, as required, i.e. Special tools and equipment commissioning, special field-testing, assist in facilitation of training classes for all FS technicians and support staff.
  6. Capable of travel 10-20%.
  7. Reporting Customer stated problems to Merak Engineering, recommending technical solutions to KBC Engineering.
  8. Maintaining accurate logs/tracking sheets/status of FMI’s and other activities in the field.
  9. Explanation of Merak systems/services and products to Customers during testing and/or Rail Services support requirements.
  10. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Competencies: Technical

  1. Must have a minimum of 7 years of proven experience in a repair shop Environment in one of the following fields: Rail, Automotive, Marine, Military Ordinance, Mining/Heavy Equipment or Aviation/Avionics.    
  2. Ability to do “hands-on” trouble-shooting, to support the level of “Running Repair” and “Heavy Repair”.
  3. Must be able to use electrical/electronic measurement tools (oscilloscopes, DMM, etc.) in the field with an advanced technical knowledge.
  4. Must be able to utilize Merak portable test units and service terminal software proficiently in the field.
  5. Must possess ability to understand software and PTU’s at functional level for troubleshooting purposes. 

Competencies: Core

  1. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  2. Must have above excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with remote personnel.

Required Education:

High School Diploma/GED

Required Experience: 

6-8 Years Relevant Experience

Addional Eligibility Qualifications:

Minimum of 7 years’ of experience in related field will substitute degree for years of experience.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Westminster, MD is $56,900 to $71,100 per year.
