JOB DESCRIPTION:

Quality Inspector I perform repetitive and routine inspections, checks, tests and sampling procedures of standard parts, units, equipment, or materials.

Essential Functions:

•  Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment and ensure the compliance with company's rules and policies.

•  Must be able to comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines and regulations.  Be energy conscious, if applicable.

•  Must understand and comply with applicable standards. ( i.e.: ISO 9001, ISO 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, AAR, and CMMI).

•  Maintain and safeguard business records.

1. Good reasoning skills are required as well as knowledge of Knorr/Merak/IFE/Microellectrica documentation and specifications.

2. Assist with or conduct process audits, customer PSI (Source Inspections), First Article Inspections (FAI).

3. This position requires the ability to verify and document activities both on paper form as well as utilizing computer software such as Word, Excel, Windchill and SAP.

4. Proper selection and use of precision measuring tools and equipment is required.

5. Determines whether product is acceptable or rejected, initiates rejection notices (NCRs), and maintains accurate written records of the inspections performed, including the results.

Technical Competencies:

1. Working knowledge of GD&T

2. Blueprint reading

3. Thorough understanding of measurement techniques & tools

4. Ability to read and understand complex instructions.

Work Environment:

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e., noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.  The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience:

  • 3-5 Years Relevant Experience
