JOB DESCRIPTION:

Project Manager

 

Summary/Objective:

The Project Manager assists the designated project team leader, leads design team via PM process map, leads projects with minimum management oversight, and is the primary customer point of contact.  Responsible for day to day project tasking and meeting project customer requirements, cost goals, and schedule.   Manages multiple, high complex tier 1 customer projects.      

 

Typical project size will be in the vicinity of $10M or less.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Utilizes and follows standard project scheduling and planning tools per KBC  Procedures.
  • Maintains project plans regularly and provides reports to supervisor/manager.  
  • Develops high-level plans to meet both project and product cost targets.  Reports progress to appropriate management levels. 
  • Responsible for meeting assigned project(s), shipment, and financial performance goals; regularly reports to management on progress and performance.
  • Responsible for the implementation of assigned new product development and product / program production readiness. 
  • Participates in or leads project meetings and design reviews, and tracks progress of day to day commitments. 
  • Monitors project progress vs. staffing plan and reports any resource constraints.
  • Make recommendations on changes or work-arounds.
  • Ensures that problems and issues are dealt with in a structured manner, using accepted problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Ensures appropriate corrective actions are taken.
  • Manages the project's risks and opportunities; tracks progress and provides reports to supervisor/manager.
  • Responsible for populating cost models and validating the accuracy of all cost inputs.
  • Responsible for execution of customer management strategy - works closely with customer personnel on project status, including technical or schedule issues, and pricing.
  • Aids in the development of new business by providing as-needed support for proposals.
  • Complies with and supports company policies and programs regarding safety, security, ISO, EEO, OSHA and the Code of Ethics and business conduct.
  • Resolves or escalates issues in a timely manner; often involves manager and project team.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment and ensure the compliance with company's rules and policies.
  • Must be able to comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines and regulations. Be energy conscious, if applicable.
  • Must understand and comply with applicable standards. ( i.e.: ISO 9001, ISO/TS 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and CMMI).
  • Maintain and safeguard business records.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree required, Business Administration, Engineering or related field of study preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Project Management or related work.
