JOB DESCRIPTION:
Summary:
The Material Planner manages the production and material flow through the segment’s work centers to provide schedule adherence to the Master Production Schedule. To support this objective, data in several system modules, including capacity requirements plan, data integrity of work orders, work order maintenance, work center maintenance, dispatch control, lead times, lot sizes, etc., must be managed daily.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain monthly production shortage report utilizing the Master Production Schedule and inputs from the purchasing and expediting groups.
- Ensure data integrity of the Work Order Maintenance system module, including release of, material availability for, priority of dispatch, and variance control data points.
- Maintain systems daily, including but not limited to, floor stock and WIP (work-in-progress) inventory transactions, scrap transactions, and lot sizing.
- Provide management with measurements that accurately define our position to the MPS (Master Production Schedule) and MRP (material resource planning). This includes reporting past due hours, anticipated delays, and tooling or support problems.
- Plan capacity requirements, in an effort to ensure schedule adherence, including manpower, machines, overtime, off-load, and outsourcing.
- Ensure a smooth flow of production that optimizes cost, quality, schedule adherence, and productivity of the non-exempt workforce.
- Provide support and assistance to other colleagues, as directed, and any other duties as requested.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment and ensure the compliance with the company's rules and policies.
- Must be able to comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules and regulations. Be energy conscious, if applicable.
- Must understand and comply with applicable standards. ( i.e.: ISO 9001, ISO/TS 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and CMMI).
- Maintain and safeguard business records
Technical Competencies
- Global knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems, modules, including module-interfacing.
- SAP system knowledge strongly preferred with detailed understanding of shop floor control, CRP, MPS, and MRP modules.
