JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary/Objective

The KBC Design Validation Intern is a key position that will assist in various activities to support the Testing and Commissioning Department in operating efficiently. 

 

Essential Functions

  1. Assisting Design Validation personnel in the design, fabrication, and validation of System functional Test Racks.  This includes the design and fabrication of mechanical and electrical components.
  2. Assisting Design Validation personnel in the design, fabrication, validation, and performance of component qualification/investigative tests.  As experience is gained, the candidate will take over responsibility of these tasks and handle them from start to finish.
  3. Assist with day-to-day activities of the Design Validation Department in a wide variety of tasks across the Brakes, Doors, and HVAC business units. Use skills learned to troubleshoot and investigate issues that may arise in the lab.
  4. Must be able to comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules and regulations. Be energy conscious, if applicable.

Work Environment

This job operates in a split-environment between an office and a test lab. For the office, this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. For the test lab, this role routinely uses hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.

 

 

Required Education and Experience

 

  1. Current College Student

 

Preferred Education

 

  1. Engineering field of study
  1. GPA 3.0 or higher

Note: The anticipated wage scale for candidates who will work in Westminster, Maryland or remote is $16.00 to $25.00/per hour. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will depend on their class year/status.
