JOB DESCRIPTION:

Intern Assignment:
The Purchasing Intern will assist Buyers and MRP Controllers with administrative tasks and/or basic purchasing functions.  The intern will be assigned project tasks as needed in support of the department. Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.  Essential Functions:•  Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment and ensure the compliance with company's rules and policies.
•  Must be able to comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines and regulations.  Be energy conscious, if applicable.
•  Must understand and comply with applicable standards. ( i.e.: ISO 9001, ISO 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, AAR, and CMMI).

• Assist Purchasing Team with general administrative tasks, expediting, & material availability activities 
• Support Tools & Process Development through project specific tasks
• Support & Assist with weekly & monthly reporting 
• Complete Special Tasks or projects as identified & assigned. 
• Complexity will be dependent on individual's experience, interest, and skill set. May include database management, requesting documentation or updates from external suppliers, and updating system data.Competencies:  Technical
• Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel
• Ability to learn how to do basic navigation in SAP & to run standard reports
• Strong problem-solving and communication skillsCompetencies:   Core

• Ability to work with minimal supervisionRequired Education: HSD/GED Student preferably in at least Sophomore year and targeting Business degree.
Logistics/Supply Chain or Operations Management emphasis preferred but not required.
