JOB DESCRIPTION:
Summary/Objective
Manage a close relationship with the transit authorities in an assigned geographical region to Identify new business opportunities. Help Transit Business units to understand customer requirements and to generate proposals to grow sales
Essential Functions

- Collect and keep up-to-date information on each transit authority- Number of different cars in service; Date cars entered in service; History of refurbishing and modernization projects; OEM suppliers etc.
- Identify reliability problems experienced by the transit authorities with brakes and onboard systems. This information is used to develop a strategy for product improvements and solutions development
- Proactively understand plans of a transit authority to replace or refurbish a system and communicate to the business units. This information can be used to influence future system specifications for OE applications.
- Organize meetings between key transit authority employees and relevant business unit employees – Sales, systems, and engineering.
- Support business unit sales team with the development of the proposal. Provide insights on customer views and preferences to generate a competitive proposal and to improve the probability of winning the business.
- Attend follow-up meetings and participate in negotiation discussions as needed with the customer.
- Although not responsible for project execution, must stay abreast at a high level regarding project status and help the project execution team with customer relations as needed.
- Provide feedback regarding customer satisfaction levels to the business units to make improvements as needed.
- Market KB’s product portfolio and convince the customer that we can replace equipment originally designed by our competitors.

Work Environment
The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal. The employee may be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related field
At least 5 years of relevant experience
