JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary/Objective:  

Assemble components such as sub-assemblies, brake units, door motor drives, wiring harness, and detail parts working at assembly bench. 

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials. 
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies. 
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component. 
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources. 
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment and ensure the compliance with company's rules and policies.
  • Must be able to comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines, and regulations. Be energy conscious, if applicable.
  • Must understand and comply with applicable standards. (i.e.: ISO 9001, ISO/TS 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and CMMI).
  • Maintain and safeguard business records.

Work Environment:

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e., noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.  The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Physical Demands:

  • Capable of standing on hard surfaces up to eight hours per day
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, with ease.
  • Able to carry 50 pounds without assistance, 25 feet.
  • Able to lift from waist to overhead, 30 pounds using both hands.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment, which can expose one to loud noises, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, handle and manipulate items with hands.
  • Ability to walk, bend, climb, twist, stoop, and squat.
  • Ability to wear and use proper personal protective equipment; safety glasses, face shield, gloves, ear plugs, or earmuffs and steel-toed safety compliant footwear.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience:

  • 0-2 Years Relevant Experience

The base pay rate is $18.14 per hour.  The company reasonably expects to pay within that range, however, Knorr Brake Company considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
