JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary:

 

This position is responsible for identifying, implementing, managing, and optimizing digital tools, platforms, and processes within the manufacturing and operations environment. Integrating our current manufacturing processes and systems with emerging automation, software, and technology to unlock new business value.  This position requires a college or university degree or the equivalent work experience that provides knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Develops competence by performing structured work assignments. Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems. Receives instructions, guidance, and direction from others.

Essential Functions:

 

  • Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing tools with experience implementing at the shop floor level.
  • Establish standard work practices, and baselines for productivity.
  • Develop and implement improvements to the sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters.
  • Provide leadership on cost reduction activities
  • Improve ergonomics and safety
  • Support the training and commissioning of new processes and equipment.
  • Justify and procure equipment and other capital improvements to maintain a world class position for all NYAB locations.
  • Negotiate with vendors and contractors to acquire products and services cost effectively.
  • Assist with planning of current and future capital budgets.
  • Design production cell layouts, equipment, and benches.
  • Stay current on lean applications and theories.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Work Environment:

  • The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal, in an office environment.
  • The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e., noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt, etc.
  • The employee will be required to work closely with employees on the shop floor, handling/inspecting parts, fixtures, and tools.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Up to 25% travel

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Bachelors degree in relevant Engineering field
  • Minimum 5-7+ years related experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, AutoCAD

 

Preffered experience:

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • 2D CAD
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Greater Business knowledge (Understanding of some financials/Supply Chain/Quality/etc.)
  • Experience in Industrial IoT technologies, data anlytics, and visualization tools
  • Programming Knowledge (PLC, HMI, etc.)

The base pay range for this role is $71,060 USD – $107,640 USD. The company reasonably expects to pay within that range, however, Knorr-Brake Company considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
