The Systems Test Engineer will manage the development of new tests and improvement of existing standardized tests while ensuring products meet quality standards in support of company objectives. This position is in a lab setting however, after training there is flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement.


Essential Functions

  • Review and understand requirements for the design of rail braking systems
  • Perform requirements traceability and populate Reqt Traceability Matrix
  • Design system level test cases to verify compliance with requirements.
  • Design/build system test racks and equipment as required for system tests
  • Perform system test procedures / test cases.
  • Review test results to verify compliance. Revise test procedures / test cases.
  • Assist senior test engineers and field service engineering staff.
  • Design system-level Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis verification tests.
  • Design Change Qualification and Change Verification Tests
  • Define and perform commissioning tests for rail vehicle braking systems



  • Solid understanding of rail braking operation and design
  • Requirements analysis, allocation and traceability
  • Basic test design.
  • Imperial and metric unit measures
  • Configuration management
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • FMECA analysis


Eduation and Experience

Bachelors Degree

2-5+ years of experience
