JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title:  Software Engineer

Job Location:  748 Starbuck Avenue, Watertown, NY 13601

Work Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week (M-F, 8 am to 5 pm)

Job Duties: Provide maintenance support for existing software based products; design, code, debug and test new software products; perform/participate in software design and code reviews; prepare detailed design and test case documentation; prepare requirements and architectural design documents; adhere to NYAB software processes; interface with other departments as necessary; and prepare software estimates and schedules; develop C/C++ applications in an embedded real-time operating system with object oriented Analysis and design and domain modeling with UML; work with ISO, CMMI, and DO-178B standards (safety standards similar to CENELAC); work  with unit testing frameworks, including Rational Test Real Time tool; performing Socket programming (TCP/IP and/or UDP/IP); and work with tools for version control and defect tracking.

Minimum degree required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Years of experience required: Three (3) years of experience

Special skills required: Must have experience with each of the following: developing C/C++ applications in an embedded real-time operating system; UML, MATLAB or Simulink; ISO standards; Socket programming (TCP/IP and/or UDP/IP); and work with tools for version control and defect tracking.

Remote/work telecommuting: Telecommuting allowed 2-3 days a week
