Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer II


Job Location:  748 Starbuck Ave, Watertown, NY 13601 (telecommuting permitted)


Job Duties:  Responsible for implementing NYAB's Supplier Quality Assurance Program. This includes supplier rating/performance reporting, establishing Supplier Quality flow downs, evaluating suppliers’ quality systems, performing product and process validations on supplied product, evaluating non-conforming product and implementing corrective actions; directing all commodity team supplier quality efforts to ensure the highest quality standard for purchased materials received at NYAB; supporting supplier value engineering efforts to enhance supplier cost reductions, and producibility improvements to reduce the cost of poor quality; implementing and maintaining a complete Supplier Quality Assurance Program with suppliers; establishing and communicating the quality standard for purchased materials; implementing an on‑going supplier maintenance program for evaluation of supplier performance at their facility and at NYAB to assure that established requirements are met and that there is evidence of continuous improvement; evaluating non-conforming material and managing and implementing containment and corrective actions with suppliers; communicating supplier development activities with manufacturing team; providing the necessary support to manufacturing teams on problem solving and corrective action related to supplier issues; supporting daily quality with manufacturing team needs; and actively participating and supporting commodity team activities.


Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related field) and three years of experience; must have workable knowledge of DOE, Six Sigma, and PFMEA.


Work hours: Full-time


Travel Requirements: 25%
