JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for actively and continuously improving performance of suppliers in the responsible region in terms of quality, delivery and technology.
Support the SQD Die casting group on conducting various supplier related audits on potential, new and current suppliers to Bendix CVS: Supplier Capability Assessments, Run-at-Rates, Manufacturing Capability Audits, Control Plan Audits, etc., and take necessary actions as required.
Essential Functions:
- Review Aluminum Die Cast supplier's CQI-27 assessment and improvement action plan for non-conformances and opportunity for improvement.
- Support with problematic suppliers defining action plans from process point of view with focus on prevention and apply quality and problem-solving methodologies
- Monitor supplier performance (Incidents, PPM's, PAVE, COPQ) and develop / implement effective action plans to improve poor performing suppliers.
- Ability to identify supplier improvements from manufacturing point of view and ensure effective actions are taken to improve KPIs.
- Support Supplier Change Requests and provide feedback to the GPE AC Group.
- Support manufacturing locations on supplier related performance issues (conduct 8D verification, review containment process).
- Support and lead as required new program launches, supplier localization, resourcing projects, etc.
- Resolve medium impact/complex issues at plant and supplier locations.
- Manage suppliers through PAVE
- Support and coordinate the APQP projects for suppliers (DMI+) sessions (C-phase minimum)
- Define and agree on actions with suppliers to meet PPM targets
- Develop supplier’s systems in all aspects of quality and safety
- Assure agreement for obtainable design / process controls
- Approve new suppliers (QMS)
- Technology auditing and benchmarking
Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of APQP, VDA 6.3, PSA, IS9000:2000, IATF 16949 and QMPP
Strong knowledge of statistics
Strong knowledge of SAP
Strong knowledge of quality core tools
Proper application of GD&T
Problem-solving tools
CQI-27 certified is a plus.
Experience:
3-5 years’ experience in Quality and Supplier Quality Engineering:
Leading teams
Managing projects
Working with manager level at suppliers
Dealing with confrontation
Applying problem-solving methods and tools

Education:
Bachelor of Engineering or Industrial Engineering
Master's degree a plus
Green Belt certification preferred
Travel requirements:
Willingness to travel, (approximately 40-60% domestic and international).
Valid USA Visa and Passport.
