JOB DESCRIPTION:

Snyder Equipment has supplied quality products to the railroad industry since 1936. Essential Functions

Understand all facets of the warehouse process.

  1. Fill in for Warehouse Supervisor as necessary.
  2. Understands how to store customer and in-house material.
  3. Complete receiving reports accurately
  4. Understand all shipping functions in SAP and be able to use UPS World Ship and customer data base (LTL). Understand all customer routing guides and adhere to procedures.
  5. Maintain inventory.
  6. Proper use of a forklift, power and manual tools.
  7. Instruct cell employees on procedures, proper and safe use of all tools and equipment.
  8. Conduct OTJ training for all new employees.
  9. Conduct morning meetings, issue instructions for daily goals and shift personnel as needed to achieve those goals.
  10. Maintain a 5S environment in the cell at all times, and immediately address any and all safety issues.
  11. Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  12. Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  13. Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPI) as defined by the Goal Tree.

Skills and Competencies

  1. Technical Capacity
    • Forklift experience.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to multitask.
    • Knowledge/understanding of property descriptions, best practices and theory.
    • Proficient computer knowledge.
  2. Strong Communication Proficiency, both written and verbal
  3. Working knowledge of SAP, Excel, Outlook
  4. Time Management
  5. Organizational Skills
  6. Must follow and understand written and unwritten NYAB policies and procedures, understand and completes all documentation required; be aware of safety, quality, production, and housekeeping goals for the plant; be alert for and report all safety and quality concerns.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc., as well as inclement weather outdoors such as heat, cold, snow, rain, etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. Employee will be required to use a forklift indoors and outdoors. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.

Required Education and Experience

1.         High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)

2.         One to Two years of related Cell Lead experience.
