JOB DESCRIPTION:

$17-18/hr; rotating weeks Monday - Thursday then Tuesday - Friday 5AM - 3:30 PM

Seeking individual with solid basic math skills, basic computer skills (Word, reading Excel documents) and experience with measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)

 

The Quality Inspector is responsible for using measuring devices to examine parts purchased and manufactured in house for accuracy and workmanship per engineering drawings. Manage Non-conforming material within the different departments and enter the information into the computer system. Perform various audits in work cells such as assembly & test, machining, shipping, receiving & the stockroom. Calibrate torque guns, torque wrenches, transducers among other tools and log in to calibration software. Ensure compliance with AAR lab testing.

Essential Functions

  1. Understand and use various tools and measuring devices to evaluate the quality of parts per drawings. (Variable gages, attribute gages, SPC gages, torque wrenches, tensile tester, ozone machine, flexibility test apparatus, etc.)
  2. Understand & follow the written and unwritten policies and procedures associated with the department. Examples: Quality manual procedures for; Managing non-conforming material, Receiving Inspection, performing various audits, etc.
  3. Understand & operate SAP to perform transactions (Q2, Q3, Q4, etc.) and investigate material (QA32, QM01, MMBE, LS24, MB51, etc.)
  4. Strive to attain the safety, quality, production, and housekeeping goals for the department
  5. Follow the ESD (electro-static discharge) procedures.
  6. Maintain lab equipment to ensure top performance and monitor calibration adherence
  7. Calibration of gauges
  8. Verify and sort parts per Blueprint requirements as needed
  9. Support updating LDM boards
  10. Perform cell audits
  11. Follow MRB and Arrest process
  12. Create Quality alerts and support QE for corrective action validation
  13. Provide measurement and testing support for internal and external quality issues
  14. Ensure the conclusions from investigations are properly supported by facts, make recommendations for corrective and preventative actions that address the root cause, and all aspects of the investigations are thoroughly documented.
  15. Assist and train personnel as requested.
  16. Document all AAR testing and support hose testing
  17. Provide problem solving and failure analysis support to production, quality, and engineering as the technical expert.
  18. Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  19. Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  20. Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
  21. Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment:

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.  The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Required Education and Experience

 

 

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Prefer 1-2+ years of demonstrated quality inspector experience in a manufacturing environment
  3. Measuring devices for quality evaluations
  4. ERP electronic transactions (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.)
