The Opportunity: We are seeking highly motivated and skilled employee to join our Quality Control department. The Quality Inspector is responsible for using measuring devices to examine parts purchased and manufactured in house for accuracy and workmanship per engineering drawings. Manage Non-conforming material within the different departments and enter the information into the computer system. Perform various audits in work cells such as assembly & test, machining, shipping, receiving & the stockroom. Review and document returned material from customers in the Warranty-Service shop area.

Essential Duties:

  • Understand and use various tools and measuring devices to evaluate the quality of parts per drawings. (variable gages, attribute gages, SPC gages, torque wrenches, etc.)
  • Understand & follow the written and unwritten policies and procedures associated with the department.   Examples: Quality manual procedures for ; Managing non-conforming material, Receiving Inspection, Performing various audits, etc.
  • Understand & operate SAP to perform transactions and investigate material (QA32, QM01, MMBE, LS24, MB51,etc)
  • Strive to attain the safety, quality, production, and housekeeping goals for the department
  • Follow the ESD (electro-static discharge) procedures. 
  • Calibration of gauges
  • Verify and sort parts per Blue Print requirements as needed

 

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Successful candidates will possess the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.

 

Knowledge:

  • Shop Math
  • Blueprint Reading                                                                    
  • Shop Use of Measuring Devices                                             
  • Electro-static discharge Training
  • Electric Pallet-Jack
  • Versed in safety protocols of a manufacturing facility
  • Demonstrate functional knowledge of SAP system

 

Skills:

  • Computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office
  • Electric pallet-jack operation
  • Must be conversant in English                                                 

 

Abilities:

  • 20/30 Near Vision
  • Capable of standing on hard surfaces up to eight hours per day
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, with ease
  • Able to carry 50 pounds without assistance, 25 feet
  • Able to lift from waist to overhead, 30 pounds using both hands
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment, which can expose one to loud noises, dust, chemicals and varying temperatures
  • Ability to reach, grasp, handle and manipulate items with hands
  • Ability to walk, bend, climb, twist, stoop and squat
  • Ability to wear and use proper personal protective equipment; safety glasses, face shield, gloves, ear plugs or ear muffs and steel-toed safety compliant footwear.

  • Normal sense of touch                                                                         

 

Mental Effort:   Normal concentration/intensity; normal memory, taking into consideration the amount and type of information. Complexity of decision making; normal time pressure of decision making.

 

(All positions require ability to:  Access Factory Information System (FIS) system to obtain current prints, test codes, procedures, process documentation, etc.; the operator must understand and follow the written and unwritten policies and procedures associated with the department; understand and complete all documentation required; be aware of safety, quality, production, and housekeeping goals for the department; be on alert for and report all safety and quality concerns.)
