JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary/Objective
Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for submission to management, banks, and KBHC.  Advises on all financial matters and develops and presents matters requiring director’s decision. 

 

Essential Functions

  1. Prepares in a timely manner complete & accurate reports required by the Director of Finance (DoF),  President, and German parent. 
  2. Manages the Fixed Asset & Cost Accounting administrator, and Financial Analyst
  3. Prepares the annual budget and three year plan for NYAB, and periodic forecasts during the year, including top-down and bottom-up plans.
  4. Compare actual results with operating plans and standards.  Provides reports and interprets the results of operations to all levels of management.
  5. Proactively recommend changes and implement actions to achieve planned results.  Supports business improvement teams.
  6. Develop yearly overhead rates for establishing base standards necessary for accurate inventory valuation
  7. Coordinate yearly inventory audit with manufacturing and external auditors as required.  Prepare reports necessary for inventory reconciliation.
  8. Fulfils the FICO key user role for the SBU and provides support and traing to all SBU locations as necessary.
  9. Manage the daily activities of the remote location designated accounting / controlling personnel
  10. Protect company assets by: ensuring adequate internal controls exist; internal audits of suspected weaknesses are performed; and communicate with KBHC Controlling to ensure proper insurance coverage is retained.
  11. Assist Director of Finance, President and other department heads with various special projects and requests for information/reports, including historical data, budgets, forecasts, cost information and semi-annual board presentation preparation
  12. Oversee the update of all manufacturing and purchase standards at year end.
  13. Perform periodic personnel reviews, and assign work to staff as appropriate to achieve Department / Company goals.  The Controller serves as a back-up for the staff personnel in their absence.

    • Experience in Manufacturing, Cost Accounting and Forecasting
  2. Advanced computer skills with spreadsheet design

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment
The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal. The employee may be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.

Required Education and Experience
 

  1. Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  2. 2-10+ years of relevant and progressively more responsible positions

 

Preferred Education and Experience
Masters Degree, CMA or CPA preferred
