JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title:   Sr. Quality Engineer

 

Job Location:  701 NW Parkway Rd., Riverside, MO, 64150

 

Work Hours: 40 hours per week; M-F.

 

Job Duties:  Effectively use product and process knowledge in all aspects of Quality Engineering; lead company projects including Six Sigma projects; review and approve Engineering drawings ensuring adherence to per ANSI Y14.5/Y14.5M, AAR, or IEEE or other Regulatory requirements; lead development of suppliers to ensure and improve quality of purchased products, manage quality inputs during development phase, and manage quality activities during realization phase; SAP reporting BW / QM, ability to change and write queries and macros for analysis; compile, write, and deliver training material and mentor quality personnel on quality tools including Green Belts; design & develop process and product validation protocols and reports & equipment qualifications; design & develop test plans and test cases for process/products, validation protocols, reports, and equipment qualifications; evaluate independent test results and reports, including Engineering test plans, test reports, and third party material and failure analysis reports; represent quality by performing customer visits as required, and interface with regulators and auditors during inspections/audits; work closely with senior management in managing the inspection or audit process; facilitate Risk Management activities (FMECA, DFMEA, PFMEA); lead / complete capability and gage R&R studies as directed; use statistical tools to analyze data, make acceptance decisions, and improve process capability (Six Sigma, SPC, DOE); manage others in the development of effective quality control and associated risk management plans; and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.

 

Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) and 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or related.

 

Required Skills: Experience with APQP/PPAP/FMEA and relevant Quality control tools and processes, including knowledge of or education in Quality Engineering, design control, and verification and validation (V&V) tools and methodologies; experience with developing and implementing Quality standards; KPS or lean behaviors and applying these to processes; experience with Metallurgy / Materials Testing Experience, Use of Inspection / Measuring Machines and Tools: (CMM, micrometers, calipers, gauges); PFMEA (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis); experience with SAP, Quality tools (8D, 5Why, Ishikawa) and experience with completing internal/external corrective actions; experience with defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, drawing valid conclusions, and using data and experience to provide solutions, and interpreting engineering drawings; experience with performing internal audits, and leading customer audits and leading 5S program.
