JOB DESCRIPTION:

Essential Functions

  1. Proficient in all facets of work in the cell (disassembly, wash, build and rebuild, and testing of freight and locomotive valves, brake pistons.
  2. Instruct cell employees on proper and safe use of all tools and equipment.
  3. Must oversee OTJ training for all new cell employees.
  4. Fill in for the Production Supervisor when necessary.
  5. Proper use of power and manual tools, operations of semi-automatic equipment, lapping, washes.
  6. Maintain a 5S environment in the cell at all times, and immediately address any and all safety issues.
  7. Conduct morning meetings, issue instructions for daily goals and shift personnel as needed to achieve those goals.
  8. Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  9. Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  10. Must understand, support, and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
  11. Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

Work Environment:

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.  The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Required Education and Experience

 

1.         High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)

2.         One to Two years of related Cell Lead experience.
