The MRP Controller executes the MRP Materials plan to support the aggregated raw materials needs for use in Manufacturing and/or for direct sales to the Customer. Communicates and escalates materials shortages to the Buyer for resolution. Organizes and facilitates communication on all aspects for materials coordination and delivery to the production cell.  Interacts with the SBU Master Scheduler to understand plant level production demand rate requirements. Executes production cell schedules to meet the aggregated Customer demand at the part number level.  Responsible for maintaining accurate commitments and feedback to the Inside Sales and Customer Service teams with regards to materials disruptions.

  • Develop and maintain the Material Requirements Plan (MRP) to ensure to meet the S&OP Production Schedule and customer orders (both purchased and manufactured materials).
  • Perform daily system maintenance including, but not limited to, executing placement of Purchase orders, reviewing and executing ZDPO messages, reporting production, scrap transactions, lot sizing and cycle counting of floor stock inventory.
  • Monitor/ Maintain Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Supplier pulls and Internal Kanban programs..
  • Daily, direct communication with Buyers to ensure Purchase Order confirmation and delivery status, controlling logistics costs and inventory impact.
  • Maintain PP/MM Master Data settings to align with and balance KPI's including, Inventory Turn Rate, Customer Service, and Supplier Delivery goals.
  • Develop and communicate production schedules for repetitive planned orders to the Production supervisors
  • Release work orders for non-repetitive product to ensure material availability to meet customer deliveries.
  • Communicate daily with Quality, Warehousing and Operations Teams on resolution and disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Participate in LDM Tier 1, 2 and 3 shop floor activities associated with Materials Planning and warehousing. Support and lead continuous improvement activities in pertinent areas.
  • Collaborate and communicate with Inside Sales Personnel on Sales commitments for purchased materials and expediting with the Buyer Team to meet customer needs.
  • Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.



  • Demonstrated background in Material Requirements Planning.
  • Working knowledge of ERP Systems, strongly prefer SAP.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft office products.
  • Working knowledge of lean principles.
  • Able to multitask and manage deadlines.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Has proven problem-solving ability.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment
The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal. The employee may be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.

Required Education and Experience

Associate Degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, or Related Technical Field

1-2 Years of Relevant Experience


Preferred Education and Experience
APICS Certification Desired
