Knorr-Bremse India Private Limited is a 100% subsidiary of Knorr-Bremse AG Germany which is more than 110 years old Company and world's leading manufacturer of braking systems for Rail and Commercial vehicles. Knorr-Bremse started its operation in India in 1993 and relocated to Palwal location in 2013, which is set up to cater to the growing demand in the Indian market.
Knorr-Bremse has built a state of the art manufacturing facility spread over 17 Acres of land situated at 51/4 KM stone at main Mathura Road near Palwal. With optimized plant logistics and an improved working environment for employees, the new facility was built with an eye on maintaining the ecological balance. The plant conforms to Green building norms with energy-efficient air-conditioning and a high level of insulation. This helps reduce its carbon footprint, which the company considers a part of its environment sustainability.
Mechanical Design Engineer
Compressor (Rotary & Reciprocating) design experience must.
5-7 years’ experience with manufacturing facility or technical centre either designing, specifying, or operating custom engineered Turbomachinery.
Knowledge of Air Supply products like compressor, air dryers, frame design is highly desirable.
Experience in Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE), applying design methods to identify cost saving opportunities.
Good knowledge manufacturing processes like casting, machining and sheet metal is required. Understand design for manufacturing (DFM) and material requirements.
Working knowledge of DIN, ISO, and ASME design standards.
Analyze master specifications, define technical solutions, track schedules and follow‑ups, and drive innovative optional solutions.
Coordinate with R&D and Engineering departments to ensure successful transition of new products from concept to validated designs, and provide cross‑functional support to Sales, Applications, and Marketing teams.
Prepare and maintain weekly status updates, along with monthly and final project reports for assigned R&D initiatives.
Experience in CAD tools like PTC – CREO 4.0 and PLM Windchill is required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of German is an advantage.
