Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Software-in-the-Loop testing, Hardware-in-the-Loop testing, and test automation for automotive brake control software. The role involves test specification analysis, test environment setup, test execution, defect analysis, retesting, and automation using dSPACE, Vector and natively developed tools and scripting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze software requirements and test specifications.
  • Configure, execute, debug, and maintain dSPACE Software-in-the-Loop test environments.
  • Perform end-to-end integration testing with application software, Basic Software, simulation models, calibration data, communication interfaces, and test scripts.
  • Develop and execute Hardware-in-the-Loop tests using real-time test benches.
  • Configure test benches, rest-bus simulation, input and output channels, loads, sensors, and actuators.
  • Perform software fault insertion testing.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python, CAPL, and AutomationDesk scripting.
  • Execute tests, analyze results, prepare reports, and ensure requirement traceability.
  • Analyze defects, support root cause identification, and perform retesting.
  • Maintain test environments, configurations, test scripts, calibration files, and test artifacts.

Must Have Skills

  • Hands-on experience in dSPACE Software-in-the-Loop testing.
  • Experience with virtual ECU configuration, execution, debugging, and maintenance.
  • Experience in Hardware-in-the-Loop test development and execution.
  • Working knowledge of dSPACE tools such as:
    • AutomationDesk
    • ControlDesk
    • ConfigurationDesk
    • ModelDesk
    • SystemDesk
    • VEOS
  • Strong debugging skills for environment, build, configuration, mapping, communication, and execution issues.
  • Test automation experience using Python, CAN Access Programming Language, or AutomationDesk scripting.
  • Good understanding of automotive embedded software testing, integration testing, regression testing, and defect retesting.

Good to Have Skills

  • Experience in brake control or chassis control systems.
  • Knowledge of Controller Area Network, diagnostics, Unified Diagnostic Services, and calibration workflows.
  • Experience with Vector tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, or CANape.
  • Experience with PTC Integrity, Windchill Requirements Validation and Source, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of ASPICE and ISO26262.

Qualification

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunication, Electrical, Instrumentation, Computer, Automotive, Mechatronics, or a comparable engineering discipline.
