Knorr-Bremse India Private Limited is a 100% subsidiary of Knorr-Bremse AG Germany which is more than 110 years old Company and world's leading manufacturer of braking systems for Rail and Commercial vehicles. Knorr-Bremse started its operation in India in 1993 and relocated to Palwal location in 2013, which is set up to cater to the growing demand in the Indian market. 

Knorr-Bremse has built a state of the art manufacturing facility spread over 17 Acres of land situated at 51/4 KM stone at main Mathura Road near Palwal. With optimized plant logistics and an improved working environment for employees, the new facility was built with an eye on maintaining the ecological balance. The plant conforms to Green building norms with energy-efficient air-conditioning and a high level of insulation. This helps reduce its carbon footprint, which the company considers a part of its environment sustainability.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer requirements and applicable rail standards to define project scope, plan activities, and execute engineering tasks.
  • Design and develop Air Compressor Integration Systems for rail applications – Welded Frames, Piping, Electrical Wiring, Pneumatic Components..etc.
  • Apply technical knowledge of compressor integration with electrical and pneumatic components.
  • Develop 3D concepts and detailed engineering drawings for customer approval, in collaboration with the customer and project manager.
  • Actively participate in design reviews and production reviews.
  • Create FEA specifications and modify designs to satisfy FEA criteria.
  • Present and validate final designs to ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of material standards and identify suitable market alternatives as per country-specific norms.
  • Conduct investigations related to product design issues, field feedback, and maintenance concerns.
  • Standardize products and contribute to developing design and layout guidelines.
  • Support root-cause analysis with suppliers, production teams, and customers; document lessons learned and integrate them into design improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to global norms, safety standards, and quality management processes.

 

 

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD design using PTC Creo
  • Experience in preparing component, assembly, and installation drawings
  • Hands-on experience with PLM systems (PTC Windchill)
  • Understanding and management of engineering change processes (ECR/ECT)
  • Knowledge of multi-level BOM structures
  • Understanding of compressor functionality and application
  • Air supply system and component design exposure
  • Knowledge of DFM principles for sheet metal and piping
  • Concept design and idea development capability
  • Familiarity with engineering processes: NPD, VAVE, GD&T
  • Strong project documentation and reporting skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams
