Knorr-Bremse India Private Limited is a 100% subsidiary of Knorr-Bremse AG Germany which is more than 110 years old Company and world's leading manufacturer of braking systems for Rail and Commercial vehicles. Knorr-Bremse started its operation in India in 1993 and relocated to Palwal location in 2013, which is set up to cater to the growing demand in the Indian market.
Knorr-Bremse has built a state of the art manufacturing facility spread over 17 Acres of land situated at 51/4 KM stone at main Mathura Road near Palwal. With optimized plant logistics and an improved working environment for employees, the new facility was built with an eye on maintaining the ecological balance. The plant conforms to Green building norms with energy-efficient air-conditioning and a high level of insulation. This helps reduce its carbon footprint, which the company considers a part of its environment sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Project Quality
• Define and implement the project-specific Quality Plan.
• Monitor defect management and rework KPIs and report to stakeholders.
• Conduct project milestone reviews and quality gate reviews .
• Ensure risk management and mitigation plans are in place.
• Facilitate lessons learned and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure compliance with project timelines and quality goals.
• Ensure all defects and rework efforts are accurately logged in tools such as Jira.
Process Quality
• Define, document, and maintain project specific guidelines
• Participation as an auditee in internal / external audits (e.g., REX, Configuration Management etc.).
• Identify process gaps and drive corrective/preventive actions.
• Train teams on process adherence and quality standards.
• Monitor process performance metrics and drive improvements.
• Support process tailoring for specific project needs while maintaining compliance.
Product Quality
• Define product quality criteria and acceptance standards.
• Oversee verification and validation (V&V) activities.
• Track and analyze defect trends and product performance.
• Ensure traceability from requirements to test results.
• Support design reviews.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve quality issues during development and post-release.
Supplier/Customer Quality
• Conduct supplier audits along with technical leads.
• Address customer complaints and lead 8D analysis.
• Ensure timely resolution of customer-reported issues.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electronics/ Computer Science/IT/Mechanical/other relevant field).
• 6–8 years of experience in quality assurance management
Tool Competencies
• Requirement management tools- PTC Integrity, Jama Connect, IBM Jazz etc.
• Task and Bug management tools- Jira, Collaborator
• Configuration Management tools- SVN, GitHub
• Well versed with automation using Excel Macros, Python script would added advantage
