JOB DESCRIPTION:

Snyder Equipment is proud to be part of the New York Air Brake family of companies.  Our 27,000 square feet headquarters in Nixa, Missouri, manufactures fueling systems, support equipment for railyards and wayside operations, and various onboard locomotive equipment. All of Snyder’s remanufacturing operations also take place on the Nixa Campus.

 

We seek a Maintenance Professional to join our manufacturing team.

 

***Starting Pay $21.00-$25.00***

 

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates with management and lead persons to complete maintenance and repairs machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
  • Provides a daily update to management on maintenance activities.
  • Tracks all needed maintenance on equipment and building and schedules accordingly.
  • Oversees all projects concerning equipment and building.
  • Is available for all Kaizen activities to change the building and equipment as new layouts are implemented.
  • Orders maintenance supplies as needed through the SRM system.
  • Works to minimize outside labor by completing all necessary maintenance possible, with inside labor.
  • Assists with training and supervision of others when help is available or required and does not let requirements go undone because of a lack of time management.
  • Perform hazardous waste management duties as necessary. Annual Hazardous waste management will be completed. Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Ground Shipper will be completed every three (3) years.
  • Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

 

Skills and Competencies

Technical Capacity

    • Knowledge/understanding of property descriptions.
    • Knowledge of generally accepted best practices and theory.
    • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing and mechanical repairs.
    • Good mechanical skills.
    • Basic knowledge of quantitative methods/statistical procedures and graphic skills.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e., noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.  The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and tools, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5+ years of experience in building and equipment maintenance or related capacity
