CAD Drafter
Reports to
Engineering Manager
Summary/Objective
Prepares and maintains detailed design drawings, schematics or specifications typically using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
Essential Functions

- Prepares and maintains detailed design drawings, schematics or specifications typically using Computer Aided Design (CAD).
- Works closely with design originators (e.g., engineers, designers) to resolve design details or discrepancies or to prepare drawings of unusually, complex, or original designs, which require a high degree of precision using CAD or Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) equipment.
- Creates, modifies and controls detailed two-and-three-dimensional parts and assembly drawings.
- Adheres to drafting standards and procedures.
- Generates and maintains Bill of Materials (BOM) of components.
- Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
- Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
- Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
- Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of computer-aided drafting and basic drafting standards and procedures.
- Understands ANSI and company drafting standards.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Possess advanced working knowledge of CAD (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Creo, and/or NX)
- Working knowledge of product data management (PDM) tools and process.
- Basic Mechanical Design Skills
- Familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Understands imperial and metric units of measure.
- Communication Skills - Comprises the ability to speak, present, write, listen, develop good working relationships with co-workers, and distribute information effectively and create an environment for open communication.
- Analytical Thinking - Refers to collecting, analyzing and structuring information using a wide perspective in order to identify key issues and patterns as well as to drawing conclusions.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal. The employee may be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.
Physical Demands
The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of an office work environment position.
Required Education and Experience
- Associate degree required: prefered major in a relevant technical field (drafting, mechanical or electrical Design, or similar)
- 0-2 Years of relevant experience
