JOB DESCRIPTION:

Snyder Equipment is proud to be part of the New York Air Brake family of companies.  Our 27,000 square feet headquarters campus in Nixa, Missouri, manufactures fueling systems, support equipment for railyards and wayside operations, and various onboard locomotive equipment. All of Snyder’s remanufacturing operations also take place on the Nixa Campus.

 

We are seeking Assemblers to join our manufacturing team to support building Oil Free Compressors (OFC).

 

**STARTING PAY - $16.00-$18.00 per hour, dependent on experience.***

 

Essential Functions

  • Basic assembly and building freight valves.
  • Follow written procedural guidelines during the assembly process.
  • Proper use of power and manual tools.
  • Proper use of calibrated gauges, power, and manual to torquing devices.
  • Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) defined in the goal tree.

Skills and Competencies

  • Good mechanical skills
  • Knowledge of shop use of measuring devices.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e., noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt, etc.  The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and tools, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to Two years of related experience.
