JOB DESCRIPTION:

Snyder Equipment is proud to be part of the New York Air Brake family of companies.  Our 27,000 square feet headquarters in Nixa, Missouri, manufactures fueling systems, support equipment for railyards and wayside operations, and various onboard locomotive equipment. All of Snyder’s remanufacturing operations also take place on the Nixa Campus.

 

We seek an Assembler - Repair Technician to work with our Remanufacturing team.

 

***Starting Pay $16.00-$18.00*** 

$1.00 Additional for second shift differential

 

Essential Functions

  • Basic disassembly, washing, and assembly of parts.
  • Identify serviceable vs. nonserviceable parts.
  • Operation of semi-automatic equipment, i.e., pedestal buffers, hand buffers, wash machines, and ultra-sonic washers.
  • Safely handle parts and tools.
  • Proper use of power and manual tools. i.e., impact wrenches, drills, EZ Outs, and hand tools.
  • Understand and comply with all quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures.

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of generally accepted best practices and theory.
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Knowledge of shop use of measuring devices.
  • Ability to complete disassembly process without destroying parts.
  • Communication Proficiency

Work Environment

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.  The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. 

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. 

 

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2+ years of related experience
