Development Engineer - CV Pads and Friction Materials (m/f/d)

We are seeking a skilled Development Engineer to support the development of CV pads for both coated and non-coated rotors. The successful candidate will drive the development of new friction materials through a deep understanding of material chemistry in pad and rotor CV applications.
YOUR TASKS
- Support the development of CV pads for coated (LMD - laser metal deposition technology) and non-coated rotors (GCI – grey cast iron)
- Drive the development of new friction materials by leveraging a deep understanding of material chemistry in CV applications
- Responsible for the requirement specification (RQ2) for pads
- Drive development of coating material for laser metal deposition technology for coated rotor
- Act as the technical interface to raw material suppliers and technology suppliers (LMD)
- Support the test department in adapting existing test specifications or creating new ones due to changing requirements (EURO 7)
- Evaluate test results (bench & vehicle) using various tools (material tester, microscope, laser flash analyser)
- Conduct data analysis and derive hypotheses to support the development of requirement and test specifications
- Align with suppliers on prototype sample manufacturing
- Create technical documentation (supplier and customer specifications)
- Support the field test department in analyzing and assessing conspicuous pads
- Assist the CoC patent coordinator with patent research and evaluation
YOUR PROFILE
- Experience in pad development (friction material pairing) or the friction industry
- Experience in material science (for brake discs and brake pads)
- Experience in LMD technology and corresponding powder manufacturing/technology
- Proficiency in data analysis
- Experience in thermal heat and mass transfer
- Experience in requirement management
- Proficiency in English
