To drive operational synergies, we are consolidating our operational Intercompany Purchasing activities within a centralized team, based in Liberec.

 

For this we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Team Leader to build-up and manage our new Rail Intercompany (IC) Purchasing Team EMEA. This position is a key role in ensuring purchasing processes between our European locations, driving collaboration across the organization.

 

As our Team Leader – Rail IC Purchasing EMEA, you will play a critical role in managing the end-to-end intercompany purchasing process. You will build-up and lead a dedicated team, ensuring efficient order management, vendor coordination, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will be a strong networker and communicator, able to build and maintain productive relationships with our Intercompany customers and across departments, facilitating smooth purchasing transactions across multiple locations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build-up our new Rail IC Purchasing Team EMEA (including recruitment and onboarding of all team members, alignment and transition from decentralized teams to the centralized team).
  • Lead and manage the team of 10-15 specialists, ensuring smooth and efficient IC procurement processes between our European locations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders especially internal customers, fostering a high level of cooperation and communication.
  • Oversee and optimize the intercompany purchasing cycle, ensuring timely and cost-effective ordering, delivery, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with the logistics, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment and resolve any issues in purchasing processes.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices in intercompany procurement.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to the purchasing team, fostering a high-performance culture.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Proven experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management role.
  • Proficient English.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing teams.
  • Exceptional networking, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across functions and locations.
  • Highly cooperative, able to work effectively in a cross-functional and international environment, under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP MM preferred) and advanced knowledge of purchasing processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel for business on a regular basis.
