ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a proactive and skilled Tactical Buyer to support the Machines and MRO categories within Indirect Purchasing. In this role, you will manage sourcing and purchasing activities across Assembly Lines, Cutting Machines, Fluids, Special Production Equipment, Production Consumables, Repair & Maintenance, Test and Measuring Equipment, Tools, and Transportation & Storage Systems - ensuring cost efficiency, supplier performance, timely availability, and compliance.
YOUR TASKS
- Realization of sourcing requests, tenders, negotiations and purchasing activities for Machines and MRO categories, covering Assembly Lines, Production Consumables – H&SE, Aluminum Profiles, Repair & Maintenance, Test and Measuring Equipment, Tools, and Miscellaneous – Customer Test Bench
- Handling of purchase requisitions in SAP Ariba for Knorr-Bremse plants and internal stakeholders
- Supporting realization of the annual saving plan within assigned categories
- Supporting strategic supplier development and category strategies in close cooperation with category management and technical stakeholders
- Driving improvement of supplier performance, delivery reliability, quality, and commercial conditions
- Ensuring compliance with internal purchasing and governance policies
- Reporting achieved savings and relevant KPIs
- Collaborative work with stakeholders, technical departments, maintenance teams, legal departments, and internal customers
YOUR PROFILE
- High school education or bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance or similar
- Minimum 4 years of experience in indirect purchasing, technical purchasing, MRO purchasing or comparable roles
- Understanding of procurement processes, technical specifications, supplier evaluation, contract models, production equipment, MRO materials, repair and maintenance services, and total cost of ownership principles
- Fluent English; German advantage
- Strong MS Office skills
- Experience with SAP Ariba advantage
- Strong negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills
- Self-driven, open-minded, and reliable team player
- Willingness to embrace change, pursue development, and face new challenges
- Readiness to work in an international environment with occasional business travel within Europe
