We are looking for Global Category Manager (Software commodity) to join our Indirect Purchasing team at Knorr-Bremse Services in Liberec.

What will be your responsibilities and daily tasks?

• Identifying and actively driving forward initiatives to reduce costs and increase efficiency at a global, regional and cross-location level for the software category.
• Developing and implementing the purchasing strategy for the assigned software categories (e.g. application, development or infrastructure software) in close collaboration with the Global Category Director, functional departments such as IT, Development and Product Management and the relevant locations.
• Conducting and finalizing extensive and complex global contract negotiations with a focus on license agreements, maintenance, support and cloud services.
• Active support in the implementation of sustainability and compliance initiatives in the area of software procurement.

What qualification, personal competencies and skills are required for this position?

• Several years of professional experience in purchasing, especially in the area of software and strategic purchasing.
• In-depth knowledge in the procurement of software products and IT services as well as in strategic sourcing processes.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing suppliers and their contracts in the field of software in the area of software.
• Ability to communicate effectively across different organizational units and build consensus.
• Ability to work in a team, assertiveness and strong communication skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
