JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

Lead process improvement activities and daily manufacturing engineering support for assigned value stream.  Execute and lead product and process launch teams.  Lead continuous improvement activates to drive out waste from the manufacturing process.  Provide technical expertise in root cause analysis of issues that arise.  Assist with plant layout design and launch of capital equipment.

 

Responsibilities of Position:

  • Responsible for process improvements and daily manufacturing engineering support for Reman and/or OE production cells.
  • Lead, train, and provide technical expertise for manufacturing cells in a High Performance Work Team environment.
  • Present project concepts and costs to Engineering Manager.
  • Operate as Manufacturing Engineering Team member in timely implementation of Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Assist in plant layout and design and in the purchase and installation of capital equipment.
  • Launch new products and processes meeting delivery schedules and cost targets.
  • Support Product Safety Management and execute activities defined in Quality Procedure Q-01-002
  • Familiar with PLC control systems

 

Attributes/Skills Required/Sought:

  • Tooling/fixturing design experience in heavy machining
  • Ability, desire to provide “hands on” floor support
  • Perform capability studies, DOEs, FMEAs, etc.
  • CAD experience. CNC Programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, support and lead change in an innovative environment.
  • A bias for action with dedication and commitment to achieving World Class status.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Developed time management skills with a sense of urgency.
  • Microsoft office.
  • Six Sigma (Green Belt)
  • Lean Manufacturing

 

Experience/Education Required/Sought:

  • BS/BSET degree required in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical engineering.
  • Familiarity with PLC controls a plus (Allen Bradley and Siemens a plus)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with manufacturing engineering
