POSITION SUMMARY:                                                                                               

This position will serve as a partner to the business in achieving business targets. The generalist will provide day-to-day support to the business, including staffing, performance and development, expert counsel to supervisors and managers, and accurate and timely information to clients. This position calls for a high-level of integrity, a strong depth of knowledge, and a pro-active approach to problem solving and customer service.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • Establishing strong and effective working relationships, at all levels of the organization, that are conducive to maintaining a positive employee relations work environment.
  • Ensures employee satisfaction by proactively assisting employees and management in various issues by listening, investigating, researching any necessary information, soliciting any resources or experts and providing coaching and counseling as needed.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and interpretation of human resources policies and procedures and enforcing in an objective, fair and consistent manner.
  • Provide project support on various department and business initiatives, including supporting the People Development Pillar.
  • Provide day-to-day support to the HR function including data gathering/analysis, reporting, metrics, etc.
  • Participate in decision-making processes from a human resources perspective. Identify the effect of human factors on long-range business planning and new program development to drive organizational effectiveness.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Human Resources Information System, providing support as need as well as generating reports.
  • Administration of benefits, including supporting employees with benefit systems.
  • Responsible for administration of time and attendance system.
  • Work with third party vendor on FMLA & short-term disability administration.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, including ADA, EEOC & FMLA, etc.
  • Maintaining personnel records in PeopleDoc electronic filing system
  • Support hourly staffing activities for facility including administration of job bid system and recruitment process, including new hire orientation.
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement activities related to human resources/organizational systems, processes and programs.
  • Understands and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies (ISO14001). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action in regard to safety, health, and environmental concerns.
  • Understands current quality policies and procedures (IATF 16949). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action in regard to product quality.
  • Lead local Fabric Committee functions.
  • Flexible in work schedule to support multiple shifts.
  • Provides support as needed, including any other duties as requested by manager or the leadership team.

 

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in a HR Generalist role, manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience in managing people with a positive and developmental approach.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resource legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of benefits, compensation, staffing process and employment law.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with good attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to influence.
  • Ability to perform in a matrix environment.
  • Effective listening skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multitask.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Previous experience with SAP, ADP & PeopleDoc a plus.
  • Ability to teach and demonstrate organizational values; performance management techniques; and deliver effective presentations.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and demonstrated professional manners when dealing with others.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Must work well in a participative team environment.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor Degree required. Business or Human Resources preferred.
