JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

 

Performs professional manufacturing engineering assignments supporting product manufacturing.  Applies standard engineering techniques, analysis, procedures and criteria in specific situations. Produces and correlates data.  Recognizes discrepancies in results.  Investigate problems, identifies optimal solutions, and makes selections of engineering alternatives.  Independently evaluates problems or opportunities, initiates required activities, identifies solutions, and applies standard engineering analysis tools to evaluate and select solutions. Minimal guidance and direction required.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Support AME Project Engineers on new product launches with respect to manufacturing systems.
  • Support the design and development of manufacturing processes, including cost estimates, to meet safety, quality, and production requirements.
  • Support liaison work between equipment suppliers and manufacturing plants.
  • Support liaison/project work with manufacturing plants on major product changes, new product launches, and operations improvement projects.
  • Follow Standards.

 

Knowledge:

 

  • Basic knowledge of assembly and manufacturing practices
  • Basic understanding of fixturing and tooling design knowledge
  • Basic computer/CAD Systems familiarity
  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis

 

 

 

Experience:

 

  • 0-5 years related experience in engineering field
  • Basic Automotive or Aerospace experience
  • Machining Knowledge a plus

 

Skills:

 

  • Able to work to directed priorities
  • Able to identify risks and opportunities
  • Basic project management skills
  • General oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work in a diverse work group and in diverse work cultures as well as independently
  • Understanding of statistical analysis skills
  • Good problem-solving skills

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline
