JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION SUMMARY:                                                                                               

 

Issues instruments, hand tools, machine tools, safety equipment, materials,  and equipment. Maintains accurate receiving and stocking inventory, to satisfy all plants indirect material needs by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Verifies the identification and quantity of materials and products delivered to receiving area in agreement with bill of lading, packing list or purchase order.
  2. Marks or identifies received items as required.
  3. Moves or arranges to move materials and products to the appropriate storage location or workstation. 
  4. Receives, locates and puts away materials and products into storage locations.
  5. Records receipt of materials and products into storage locations.
  6. Pulls, records disbursements and shortages, stage, and delivers stores inventory and work in process materials and products.
  7. Transactions are generated by the following, but not limited to paper and pencil, computer terminals or remote devices, such as, RF Guns.
  8. Reports any problems causing delays or interruption of schedules.
  9. Works with supervisors, managers, planners, and team leaders in checking, recording and reporting parts status.
  10. Issues tools, supplies, and other materials to employees, identifies and records what is issued and to whom it was issued.
  11. Monitors and maintains plant housekeeping and 5-S Standards.
  12. Receives purchased tools, and other materials and stores them in specified locations.
  13. Checks receiving slips and reports any discrepancies.
  14. Keeps physical inventory and checks records as necessary using computer.
  15. Locates and marks locations of all new materials.
  16. Keeps work area, tools, and equipment clean, safe and orderly.
  17. Transports material as required using proper handling methods.
  18. Corrects for errors in own work.
  19. Works with Supervisor using interpersonal skills to address team member concerns and resolve issues.
  20. Trains, develops, monitors, and supports team members.
  21. Provides leadership and direction to team members regarding safety, plant safety, product quality, and production efficiency.
  22. Enforces company policies and procedures.
  23. Is responsible for verifying that own work is in compliance with requirements.
  24. Performs record-keeping duties.
  25. Reports recognized defective material and equipment to supervisor.
  26. Follows all aspects of Standardized Work Instructions.
  27. Understands and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies (ISO14001). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action in regards to safety, health, and environmental concerns.
  28. Understands current quality policies and procedures (IATF 16949). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action in regards to product quality.
  29.  Coordinate Vendor visits for projects
  30. Work with Maintenance and Engineering to review drawings and validation of part changes
  31. Coordinate expedites to ensure downtime is ZERO or minimum
  32. Maintain SAP” Master Data” as changes occur, or new parts are assigned
  33. Review of MRP re-ordering daily
  34. Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

 

 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Completion of high school diploma or GED is required. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • SAP experience highly preferred.
  • Level 4 Bendix Materials Certification highly preferred.
  • Must be able to operate various pieces of warehouse equipment, such as, fork lift and pallet jack.
  • Must be able to acquire forklift license in timely manner.
  • Tool Crib or purchasing experience required.
  • Two years experience in a manufacturing assembly operation is required.
  • Attendance on the job is essential.
  • Must be able to work in a team orientated environment.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.

May be exposed to moderate heat, light dust and fumes.  Some outside assignments could involve exposure to adverse weather conditions.  Adequate hearing protection is required for 85 decibels and above.
