JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION SUMMARY:                                                                                               

The Facilities and Industrial Maintenance departments are responsible for the maintenance and modifications of the site, building, production support systems, and the production equipment.  The Facilities/Industrial Maintenance Support Employee position is to assist these departments by functioning primarily as a cleaner, organizer, and monitor of site, floors, walls, fixtures, production equipment, and other production support items.  The Support Employee may also be assigned to gather and input information into paper and or electronic documents, and or update charts.  Furthermore, this position may assist other members of the department by completing non-technical activities (e.g. spotter for lift operation).  As a result of the variety of these assignments, this position can expect to work on the interior and or the exterior of the building, on ladders, push and pull carts, lift various weights of items, and walk a substantial amount of the shift.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Follows written and/or verbal instructions from Supervisory personnel.
  2. Open and interpret work orders, work instructions, and sketches.
  3. Selection of proper tools, equipment, and supplies to efficiently complete the assignment.
  4. Prepares for operation, monitors performance and adjusts controls for optimum performance, then properly cares for various machines prior to shut down, and reports issues to supervisor (e.g. floor scrubber).
  5. Transports material as required using proper handling methods.
  6. Keeps work area in orderly condition with respect to proper materials, tools, equipment, and personal belongings.
  7. Performs data collection, charts, graphs, and other record-keeping activities, and reports anomalies.
  8. Follows all aspects of Standardized Work Instructions.
  9. Understand, and adhere to, current health, safety, and environmental policies.
  10. Understand, and adhere to, current quality and control policies.
  11. Must be able and willing to retrieve spare parts and support install of parts/equipment.
  12. Must be willing to support facilities grounds such as lawn care/cleaning and parking lot.
  13. Must be willing to support departments 5s initiatives.
  14. Must be willing to support departments AM requirements.
  15. Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of high school diploma or GED

Fluent in reading and writing English 

Reliable transportation to the workplace

Scheduled attendance at the job site is essential

Experience in a manufacturing operation, preferably two years minimum

Uses cleaning tools and equipment appropriate to the work performed.

Basic shop math required (decimals, addition, subtraction, fractions)

Successful completion of Combined Basic Skills Assessment

Must be able to work in a team orientated environment.

Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.
