POSITION SUMMARY:                       


The Quality Engineering Supervisor leads the Quality Technicians in ensuring that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with customer specifications. The Quality Engineering Supervisor will also establish performance standards, procedures, and audit controls in order to meet business requirements, as well as, identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of company products and services.




  1. At the direction of the Quality Manager, establishes, implements, directs, and maintains Quality Assurance programs and procedures throughout the various stages of manufacturing to assure a finished product with the highest quality possible.
  2. Supports the Manager and has some areas of responsibility to conform to ISO/TS 16949 requirements.
  3. Ensures compliance with all Product Safety Procedure requirements; fully understands and ensures compliance with Product Safety Escalation Process.
  4. Is responsible for the direct supervision of plant Quality technicians.
  5. Manages cross-functional relationships with other departments to support effective use of manpower, materials to achieve the level of quality of products produced.
  6. Understands Critical Characteristics/Special Characteristics in terms of: controlling the characteristic with appropriate tools to ensure capability and stability of the process and product; the potential outcome if the characteristic is not in specification and the liability risk to the company if a defective part gets to the field.
  7. Provides overall guidance, leadership and counsel to manufacturing plant on total quality systems.
  8. Leads Quality Technicians to effectively perform required sampling, testing, and reporting of quality data.
  9. Supports the organization quality objectives by evaluating material procedures and processes for conformance to customer requirements.
  10. Administers and directs supplier quality related plant activities.
  11. Identifies adverse quality trends as evidenced by statistical analysis and assists process engineering/manufacturing personnel in the development of corrective actions.
  12. Investigates, evaluates, and reports returned product from customers.
  13. Represents plant in all customer interfacing, including situation investigation, and problem resolutions in order to foster a positive customer impression with pro-active communication and planning.
  14. Understands and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies (ISO14001). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action in regards to safety, health, and environmental concerns.
  15. Understands current quality policies and procedures (IATF 16949). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action in regards to product quality.
  16. Leads others in duties as requested, directed, or assigned.





  • A Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Technical/Industrial management is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a KPS/ lean manufacturing environment is preferred including significant experience with lean tools such as 5-S, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen facilitation
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills are required.
  • Must be able to use problem solving methods and statistical analysis to resolve issues.
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint).
  • Solid planning, leadership, and administrative skills are required
  • Excellent interpersonal & organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to effectively lead employees promoting a team-orientated environment.
  • Must be able to lead, instruct, and maintain safety rules and regulations.
  • Strong and positive team building skills are required.
