JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Operates equipment and machinery to clean, bore, mill, drill, turn, groove, ream, tap, weld, press, and cut components to supply to assembly operations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  1. Operates equipment to transform raw materials into components used in the assembly of the final product. Equipment may include loading parts into robot welders, operating pressing machines, operating boring machines, operating parts washers, and operating lathe machines.
  2. Performs typical machine shop operations to support assembly operations.
  3. Performs assigned work in accordance with blueprints, drawings, SOP’s, routings, sketches, and/or instructions.
  4. Performs and submits first piece for inspection.
  5. Follows written and/or verbal instructions from Supervisors.
  6. Performs job duties from verbal and written instructions, prints, and drawings, and other work orders.
  7. Uses gauges to verify quality products and scraps nonconforming material.
  8. Accepts and receives frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up.
  9. Perform and review statistical process control data, charts, and graphs.
  10. Is responsible for verifying that own work is in conformance with requirements.
  11. Performs record keeping duties.
  12. Performs minor lubrication and machines as required, wipes and keeps machines, tools and work place clean and orderly.
  13. Reports recognized defective material and equipment to supervision.
  14. Follows all aspects of Standardized Work Instructions.
  15. Understands and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies (ISO14001). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action in regards to safety, health, and environmental concerns.
  16. Understands current quality policies and procedures (IATF 16949). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action in regards to product quality.
  17. Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Completion of high school diploma or GED

At least one year of machining experience required;

Uses hand tools and production equipment appropriate to the work performed.

Blue print reading skills required.

Basic shop math required (decimals, addition, subtraction, fractions)

Attendance on the job is essential.

Must be able to work in a team orientated environment.

Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

In performing the essential elements of this position the following physical activities are required. This position is classified as a Medium Heavy Industrial position. The activities are measured in the amount of on-the-job time that is spent performing these activities, and to perform the essential elements of this position you must be able to lift 50 libs.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

 

May be exposed to moderate heat, light dust and fumes.  Some outside assignments could involve exposure to adverse weather conditions.  Adequate hearing protection is required for 85 decibels and above.
