JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

 

This position will serve as a partner to the business in achieving business targets.  The generalist will provide pro-active planning and day-to-day solutions, expert counsel, and accurate and timely information to clients.  This position calls for a high-level of integrity, a strong depth of knowledge, and a pro-active approach to problem solving and customer service.  

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Partners with key business or central function client groups within the organization as the Human Resources representative.  Should be a business partner to a minimum of three or more businesses.
  • Assists in the maintenance of positive employee relations by completing activities objectively, consistently, and fairly.  Proactively assist employees and management in various issues by listening, researching any necessary information, soliciting any resources or experts, and then implementing the decisions into the business to address the issue at hand.
  • Administers annual Human Resources Activities such as salary planning, talent reviews, panel rounds, and employee development and performance management in support of the client groups.  Provides guidance to management and employees regarding these activities.
  • Takes a leadership role in the completion of human resource project activities or full HR projects, management of policies and processes as needed.
  • Leads employment investigations.
  • Supports client groups in workforce planning and organization structure and recruitment by proactively assisting in the talent acquisition process and selection of the candidate.   
  • Attends appropriate staff meetings and other departmental meetings as a member of the client group leadership team.

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, labor relations or related discipline
  • SHRM- CP, SCP, PHR or SPHR preferred 

 

Experience:

 

Generalist 1:

  • 3-5 years of experience in human resources or related field 
  • 3 years of  experience in a corporate, division, manufacturing, or distribution environment a plus

 

Generalist 2:

  • 5+ years of experience in human resources or related field 
  • 5 years of  experience in a corporate, division, manufacturing, or distribution environment a plus

 

Generalist 3:

  • 7+ years of experience in human resources or related field 
  • 7 years of  experience in a corporate, division, manufacturing, or distribution environment a plus
