JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

 

This role serves as a key interface between Bendix’ operational functions and IT. The position supports both Warranty Administrative and Inspection teams by leading key, strategic, continuous improvement (CI) projects with a focus on leveraging SAP or other tools. This position is tasked with driving process improvement and process standardization in the areas of warranty inspection, claims management, warranty analysis and project management. Additionally, this role includes the support of SAP, EDI, BW and Webshop users with technical knowledge as needed, as well as driving improvements via various methods (including training, testing, investigating new functionality, defining requirements, etc.).

 

This position is responsible to interface with all customers and Finance to ensure warranty claims are processed in accordance with the warranty policies and procedures. Work closely with Sales & CoCs to ensure warranty policies and agreements are consistent.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Lead any warranty processing or part inspection related projects as needed to support business and customer initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT, various department managers and key users to identify new CI opportunities and execute agreed upon projects within supply chain.
  • Support key user network by training, trouble-shooting issues and recommending permanent corrective actions.
  • Proactively seek and recommend appropriate solutions and options to stay current with technology and industry changes.
  • Warranty Policy Administration Applied to SAP, EDI and Web, including maintenance of SAP validation tables/rules, master data and Web accounts.
  • Work closely with Product Engineering to identify and implement improvement projects.

 

Knowledge:

 

  • Must have strong knowledge of SAP and its structure.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of database structure
  • Computer programming experience using Visual Basic is important.
  • Product inspection knowledge required.
  • Advanced knowledge of supplier communication tools helpful.
  • Advanced knowledge of BW report writing and/or SAP Advanced Planning & Optimization (APO) Systems a plus
  • Automotive or trucking industry and associated warranty process knowledge preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of air brake systems and products functionality useful.

 

Experience:

 

  • Warranty or related experience, with at least 2 years in the Heavy Truck or Automotive Industry highly desirable.
  • 2+ years of continuous improvement or project management experience required.
  • Proven track record of success required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical or related field required.
  • Green Belt certification preferred
