JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Title:   Regional Service Specialist

Position ID:      80008317

Reports To:      Regional Manager (Southeast), Field Sales, Service & Training       

Location:         (Southeast) TN, AL, MS, GA, FL, SC, NC

 

                                                                                  

Position Summary:

 

This position is responsible for providing technical services, training, and warranty support to Bendix and Knorr-Bremse customer bases, including OEM's, OEM dealers, Independent Distributors, Fleets, and internal colleagues.

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Troubleshoot/Inspect Air Brake, ADAS (Collison Mitigation), Foundation Brake and Antilock Brake systems and where necessary, direct customer maintenance personnel.
  • Assist Field Sales teams and customers with training and product support.
  • Support Bendix product engineering, technical service training and technical teams in field testing, monitoring and reporting for all products as needed.
  • Identify and report Bendix product issues/concerns to the appropriate CoC, Quality, and Engineering organizations.
  • Conduct hands-on product training with the customer as needed.
  • Prepare presentations for internal and external communications in person and virtual.

 

Knowledge:

 

  • High level of technical aptitude of air brakes, hydraulic brakes, foundation brakes and ABS/ESP Systems. Experience with J1939 CAN communications and collision mitigation systems a plus.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and SAP.

 

Experience:

 

  • 5+ years technical experience in the heavy vehicle industry.
  • Experience working in a large/matrix organization preferred.

 

Skills:

 

  • Superior electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to uncover root causes and key drivers of product performance issues as it relates to commercial vehicle.
  • Demonstrate ability to use electronic test equipment such as digital voltmeter, and computer diagnostics.
  • Demonstrated ability to use hand tools.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft office products.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Superior interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

 

 

Education:

 

  • B.S degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing discipline or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2-year automotive technical degree a plus.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or similar certification in brake systems preferred.

 

Position Requirements: 

 

  • Individual must live in the Southeast United States and work from home office.
  • Estimated Travel 50 to 60%.
