Position Title:            National Fleet Accounts Director (NFAD) – Fleet Sales & Service (US,CA & MX) 

Reports To:                Sr. Director – AM Sales, Fleet, Service and Field Operations

Position Summary:


A strategic sales position within the organization, the National Fleets Accounts Director (NFAD) will lead a team of National Fleet Account Manager’s (NFAM’s) and Service Specialist (SP) in the US & Canada.  The position is responsible for all sales and post-sales support for strategic fleets with 2,000 power units and above.  In addition to leading the team, the NFAD will have account responsibility for 2 strategic mega fleets in North America with of 5,000 power units and above.


Essential Functions:

  • Responsible to lead a team to represent, promote and sell all Bendix product lines at the fleet and dealers that are linked to the strategic fleets.  The NFAD will have accountability in driving conquest fleet spec and aftermarket fleet spec pull through with strategic fleets.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the team is operating at a very high level of technical selling and troubleshooting.
  • Must analyze the competitive landscape with the NFAM’s and Regional Sales Directors and build strategies to gain & maintain business. 
  • Drives the voice of customer, growing internal relationships and completing assigned internal tasks on a timely basis.
  • Develop goals and objectives with Sr. Director – AM Sales, Fleet, Service and Field Operations that are aligned with overall Bendix growth initiatives
  • Responsible and accountable for fleet activity that have 2,000 power units and above.
  • Ability to build relationships with OEM National Account Executives so we can stay close to large fleet activity and trends
  • Strong focus for both fleet spec and aftermarket pull-through
  • Responsible for overseeing all dealership activity that has direct responsibility with strategic fleets 
  • Achieve key performance objectives within the appropriate timeframe as outlined on personal performance targets and the overall organization’s sales targets.
  • Requires 60-70% travel to customer locations, regional meetings and industry events
  • Drive strategic fleets to participate in Bendix Regional Demo’s
  • Consistently lead the team to call on fleet customers promoting Bendix quality & brand equity
  • Work closely with Bendix sales and marketing leadership on an ongoing basis
  • Generate interest with fleet customers to purchase and specify Bendix products and systems
  • Manage business plans and make visible to the business
  • Responsible in driving the team to update all customers reporting requirements in management tool (CRM).
  • Strong ability to present in front of large audiences and be the subject matter expert
  • Strong ability to instill trust and build relationships quickly at management and executive level




  • Knowledge of heavy truck industry; OEM, OES, Fleet, Aftermarket, Distribution, Service and Training
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of organizational sales policies and procedures
  • Strong technical acumen of the operation, design and application of the complete air brake system and advanced safety system technologies
  • Possesses keen ability to present technical information, value selling and ROI analysis to decision makers
  • Strong working knowledge of computer-based programs. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)




  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in account management and leading people within the heavy vehicle industry; dealing with senior level personnel at an OEM, Aftermarket and fleet customer base
  • Must have a proven record of accomplishment of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Proven experience in making successful and professional presentations to senior level personnel
  • Capable of conducting discussions at all levels of the Bendix/Knorr and external customer organizations

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills that facilitate effective discussions
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word




  • Bachelor’s degree required – business degree preferred 
  • MBA a plus


Travel Requirements:


  • Position located in Avon, OH and/or home office within one hour of major airport
  • 60-75% travel requirement
