Director of Marketing Customer Solutions


Position Summary:


The Director of Marketing Customer Solutions is a highly visible role that has primary responsibilities for all things involving product planning and marketing strategy for Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems for the Air Supply and Drive Train (AS&D) business unit. 


Essential Functions:


  • Leads, drives and executes the product planning and marketing effort for AS&D.
  • Leads the AS&D Marketing Team with matrix support from, Product Managers, Product Directors, as well as Corporate Marketing and Communication functions.
  • Drives and implement a custom solution strategy for AS&D products with all major OE, Dealer, Distributor, and Fleet customers. 
  • Coordinates customer interactions with the field sales organization and the business ensuring that Bendix has strong, positive relationships with customers at all levels. 
  • Market Analysis – New product identification, initiation, and market research as necessary
  • Establishes, develops, and fosters a strong cross-functional working relationship with the AS&D product leadership team, and all interested parties to implement and execute key marketing and product strategies – ensuring the voice of the customer is maintained where necessary.
  • Interacts and supports the Bendix sales team with marketing strategies and materials and related training programs to help sell the product.
  • Defines requirements for sales and technical literature, product displays, advertising, and promotional strategies.  Works with Bendix Marketing Communications to implement associated strategies.
  • Develops long-range product and marketing strategies for AS&D Products while monitoring and anticipating industry trends and competitor actions to then revise and adapt product strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborates with Product Group Directors and Aftermarket Business Development on Aftermarket product and service strategies





  • Possesses an excellent understanding of the heavy-duty truck and bus market
  • Possesses knowledge of marketing, product planning and/or product management and the ability to understand strategic planning and linking customer’s strategic plans to new product development.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of Bendix OE, aftermarket and fleet customers, or willingness to learn in a short amount of time.
  • Possesses a strong technical aptitude, sound knowledge of Air Supply & Drivetrain products (air dryers, compressors, dampers) a plus.
  • Knowledge of Six-Sigma tools and processes is a plus.
  • Digital marketing approaches and big data analysis techniques that may be used in the Commercial Vehicle market.




  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in marketing, product line management, or product planning.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience, preferably in the heavy-duty commercial vehicle industry, or the automotive market. 
  • Experience in the global and domestic trucking industry is very important.



  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to creatively look forward and plan.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong marketing skills with an eye for new product and market opportunities.
  • Strong ability to build relationships both internally and externally.
  • A self-starter who can successfully perform independently as well as in a customer-focused, team-based matrix organization is essential.
  • Must have excellent strategic, QFD, and market research skills and have demonstrated these skills in previous jobs
  • Possesses exceptional planning and organizational skills to be able to prioritize time, resources, and goals and meet tight deadlines when necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess global opportunities and then work with colleagues to develop and implement growth programs in global markets.
  • Ability to present complex information in support of decision-making to leadership.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products and other software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP reporting.


  • Bachelor's degree required.  Master's degree or MBA preferred.
