Position Summary:


This position is responsible for researching, reviewing, and analyzing product and business data with the goal of providing insight and fact-based implications for products, processes, and planning decisions – offering the organization a competitive advantage. 


Essential Functions:


  • Analyzes current market & sales data in order to generate theories, testing hunches, and finding patterns that create predictions.
  • Design and build systems needed to collect, store, and analyze current and new data.
  • Performs as a mix of analyst and communicates the findings to executives and product group directors. 
  • Regularly advises on current and future trends and patterns with statistical back-up to offer up continuous improvement opportunities in portfolio planning and pricing.
  • Coordinates and manages the research analyzed within the organization.
  • Partners with the product groups (value streams) to evaluate and implement new ideas that arise from analyzing data and research.
  • Work closely with the design and engineering teams to improve their discovery, data, and research experience.
  • Make discoveries, communicate what was learned, and suggest its implications for a new business direction.




  • Must have a working knowledge in marketing and sales
  • A budgeting background, analytical skills in reading and understanding sales reports and an ability to effectively communicate with customers and service support personnel.




  • Proven research experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities.
  • Engineering background a plus



  • Ability to write code a plus
  • Intense curiosity and a desire to go beneath the surface of a problem.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required.
  • Build and project knowledge-based credibility and presence to the organization.
  • Self-starter and bias for action required.
  • Possesses excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to influence and communicate.

  • General knowledge in ERP environment and tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience structuring and presenting analyses.


  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or a Ph.D is a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in computer science, math, or economics.
