JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:
A Cloud Specialist is tasked with creating and provisioning cloud platform services at a basic level, without specialized knowledge in the development of cloud applications themselves. 
This key individual will oversee all aspects of cloud computing strategy and practice, including adoption plans, monitoring, design, implementation, and management
The cloud specialist will focus on managing the company's cloud architecture and position in cloud environments. This position will play a strategic role in maintaining all cloud systems including the front-end platforms, servers, storage, and management networks.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud computing and technology systems, as well as experience designing and transferring applications to the cloud. Must have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share your knowledge.

Essential Functions:
•    Analysis of the IT infrastructure environment with regard to security and data protection in the cloud
•    Identifies opportunities to deploy, optimize and protect critical applications and data storage
•    Manages company data securely across multi-cloud environments
•    Builds best practices around procurement and integration
•    Performs cloud technology patching when appropriate
•    Management of projects for the implementation of necessary/desired measures
•    Creation and maintenance of reports and documentation
•    Understanding the company’s cloud requirements and translating them into workable solutions
•    Ensuring all cloud-based activity is secure and able to perform to the highest standards
•    Planning cloud strategies for future use that are in line with business requirements
•    Interact with both Business and Technical teams throughout the various organizations for project consulting, design reviews, and technical guidance
•    Assisting the Cloud Program Manager and Global Cloud Managers in maintaining commission reports and strategic reporting to support the Cloud Telco business as per agreed SLAs
•    Assisting the business with process establishment and process improvement ideas
•    Participate in the creation of a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaption process.
•    Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software.

Knowledge:
•    Proven work experience as a Cloud Specialist or similar role
•    Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work
•    Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends
•    Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated cloud reports to management and other IT development partners
•    Relevant training and/or certifications as a Cloud Specialist
•    Conceptual and practical expertise in systems management in a cloud environment.
•    Detail knowledge of virtualization technologies
•    Detailed knowledge of database technologies
•    Detail knowledge of cloud technologies
•    Detail knowledge of cloud storage solutions
•    Know how to manage multi-cloud environments and how to integrate data from multiple apps
•    Understands data encryption and has a focus in data security
•    Knows how to take advantage of the scalability of cloud software

Experience:
•    3-6 years' of experience configuring, administering, managing and troubleshooting data center/cloud technologies and protocols (SAN's, LAN/WAN/WLAN, Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Oracle, SQL).
•    Outstanding ability to automate processes.
•    A positive outlook and a steadfast dedication to producing high-quality work.
•    3+ years’ experience working with cloud computing technology and modern computing trends.
•    Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) with management and other IT development partners to clearly explain complex cloud reports.
•    System deployment expertise in cloud settings.
•    Detailed knowledge of networks.
•    Proficiency in the documentation.

Skills:
•    Detailed knowledge of one or more cloud environments, such as Azure Cloud, Google Cloud, or AWS
•    Ability to design and implement cloud infrastructure
•    Good written and communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated cloud reports to management and other IT development partners
•    Problem solving abilities
•    Project management skills
•    Solid understanding and experience with various networking technologies
•    Experience working within a global team structure and taking direction from global leads
•    Knowledge of data storage
•    Strong understanding of security concepts and practices
•    Strong business process and system analysis. Ability to recognize problems and implement solutions regarding internal processes.
•    Strong interpersonal skills to successfully team with software vendors, outsourcing partners and KB regional & global business and IT associates.
•    Excellent communication and analytical thinking skills
•    Ability to manage and prioritize tasks

Education:  

•    Bachelor's degree required in Business Management, Information Systems, Computer Science or other related discipline
•    Equivalent work experience in related IT discipline may be accepted
•    Specific technical certifications a plus

Position Requirements:  
•    This position requires approximately 20% travel annually, both domestic and international.
