Position Summary:

Assist with managing and improving the Sales Controlling activities for Bendix. Includes making your mark within sales reporting, forecasting, and enhancing process/systems. This position is to garner collaborative consensus on Sales planning and reporting by leveraging cross functional resources within our S&OPs activity. This person will collaborate with leaders in finance, business unit management, plant operations, commercial and demand planning management.  This highly visible position will maintain and improve processes, analytical tools and controls in systems environment to accurately report sales and pricing activities.


Essential Functions:

  • Provide support and maintenance of the various financial systems including BPC and GMR
  • Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs to ensure the financial systems are meeting the objectives of the business
  • Responsible for a robust monthly sales analysis and forecasting process, including:
    • Demand analysis
    • Mix vs. Budget analysis
    • Monthly sales reporting and outlook
  • Prepare and review monthly analysis of results (BS, P&L and Cash Flow Statement) to ensure management reports properly reflect the overall financials
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating processes to harvest enhancements while rationalizing the various sales planning systems (SIOP, SPT, Demand) into Financials
  • Leverage organizational resources to aid / resolve current constraints impacting sales planning (Analyst III)
  • Assist with cross functional alignment on Volume, Price, Mix assumptions factored into Sales, Operations and Material planning
  • Assist with Improving the alignment of assumptions and elements within Base, Gross and Net Sales (Analyst III)
  • Assist with the preparation, coordination and review financial forecasts and various presentation packages for management reviews
  • Support sales planning and forecasting activities as well as annual and mid-year budgeting processes
  • Interface with General Accounting to support various activities related to Month/Quarter/Year-end closing
  • Provide other financial and analytical sales support as requested
  • Analyze, identify, and communicate risks and opportunities in a timely manner (Analyst III)
  • Provide structured and ad hoc reporting and support to various groups including Business Units, Central Finance/FP&A, Bendix Leadership Council, and corporate headquarters (Analyst III)
  • Leadership to prepare and drive the annual and mid-year budgeting processes (Analyst III)
  • As business activities transpire, possible take part in Finance rotational program

Required Skills:


  • Extensive understanding of financial concepts including financial statement analysis, accounting, budgeting, profitability analysis, and standard costing methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of BPC and/or Hyperion reporting tools
  • Solid understanding of the drivers of the business (i.e., industry volume patterns, specific customer products, customer/market mix, etc.
  • Self-starter who is action oriented and possesses a strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Possesses strong analytical and technical skills
  • Knowledge of calculation and interpretation of key financial metrics
  • Utilizes creative/innovative solutions to resolve complex problems/issues
  • Excellent project/process management skills
  • Possesses exceptional planning and organizational skills
  • Strong systems and data management skills required
  • Capable of performing in a customer-focused, team-based matrix organization is essential

  • Proficient in Microsoft office products and other software packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint



  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Prior roles must demonstrate strong analytical skills
  • SAP or other financial ERP systems experience is required
  • Plant finance and/or Cost accounting experience preferred


  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required, MBA preferred
