JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Position Summary:

 

Position is responsible for preparing and filing all indirect taxes, handling indirect tax audits, tax notices, and analysis of new indirect tax legislation. This position services multiple North American subsidiaries from the headquarters.  

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Manage KBHC in all matters relating to non-income taxes, including cross border import duties, property taxes, and sales taxes (Sales & Use, VAT, and GST/HST). Includes:
    • Form 1042
    • FBAR
    • Form 8802
    • W9
  • Prepare monthly account analysis and journal entries for indirect taxes.
  • Optimize Tax positions through available means and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • When necessary, assist in selecting and implementing software to meet indirect compliance needs.
  • Analyze historical information and respond to inquiries from various taxing jurisdictions, German parent holding company, and react to all indirect tax audits.
  • Review internal controls to ensure company policies and practices meet regulatory requirements.
  • Assist the direct tax department when necessary
  • Engage external consultants when necessary

 

Knowledge:

 

  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. state indirect tax compliance
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian GST / HST and VAT jurisdictions
  • Possesses knowledge of accounting principles and audit procedures (IFRS)

 

Skills:

 

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office - Excel heavy.
  • Tax research
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent level of analytical and problem solving with a focus on error prevention.                                                         
  • Pursues training and or experiences for self-development.                                                       
  • A self-starter who is action oriented and has a strong sense of urgency.

 

Experience:

 

  • 7+ years of experience in public accounting or manufacturing environment, preparing S&U tax returns  
  • IFRS knowledge preferred    
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Demonstrated success maintaining and enhancing compliance and process controls. 

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Avon, OH is $89,900–$158,200 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. KBHCis a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies.
