JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Title:              Account Manager 1-3, Regional Fleet (RFAM)

Reports To:                 Manager, Regional Sales, Service & Training Southwest

Position Summary:

 

This position is responsible to represent, promote and sell all Bendix product lines at the fleet in a defined region.  Additionally, the role will be responsible to provide product and technical training as defined by the rules of engagement for field sales and service.  The RFAM is a strategic role in the market place representing Bendix. The role requires a high technical aptitude and business acumen in the commercial vehicle industry.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Responsible and accountable for all strategic fleet customer activity in a defined region; Fleets with 750-1999 power units for both fleet spec and aftermarket business, all dealership activity for both parts and fleet spec that relates to the fleets that have 750-1999 power units.
  • Responsible for identifying and managing strategic relationships at 40-60 fleets annually to pull through fleet spec and aftermarket business 
  • Achieve key performance objectives within the appropriate timeframe as outlined on personal performance targets and the overall organization’s sales targets.
  • Requires 60-70% travel to customer locations, regional meetings and industry events
  • Lead sales calls at the dealer and fleet customer level to promote/sell Bendix product lines.
  • Support promotions with Bendix dealers to help promote/sell product lines to fleet customer.
  • Consistently call on fleet customers promoting Bendix quality & brand equity.
  • Generate interest with fleet customers to purchase and specify Bendix products and systems via regional product demonstrations
  • Create business plans annually to target specific areas of growth at the fleet
  • Provide product and sales training at the dealer, operator and service training at the fleet
  • Responsible to update all customers reporting requirements in the sales management tool (CRM).

 

Knowledge:

 

  • Knowledge of heavy truck industry, Fleet, OEMs, dealerships, suppliers, distribution channels and trade associations.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of organizational sales policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Bendix products and their functionality is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Bendix’s customer base, their business and how they operate a plus.
  • Knowledge of a customer reporting management tool a plus.

 

 

Experience:

 

  • Level 1 = A minimum of 3 years sales experience within the heavy-duty/automotive industry experience required.
  • Level 2 = A minimum of 5 years sales experience within the heavy-duty/automotive industry experience required.
  • Level 3 = A minimum of 7 years sales experience within the heavy-duty/automotive industry experience required.
  • ASE Certified desired but not required

 

Skills:

 

  • High technical aptitude and business acumen in the commercial vehicle industry.
  • Customer first attitude, driven to build and prioritize customer relationships throughout the customer’s organization and within Bendix.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills including the ability to develop creative solutions that address customer needs.
  • Self-starter and strategic thinker for both short-term and long-term wins.
  • Must be able to partner with customers to develop actionable and strategic plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required.
  • Strong professional presents, capable of influencing through interactions and follow-up.
  • Must be capability of building and utilizing a strong network, team player and wiliness to work in a matrixed organization
  • Capable of building and delivering professional presentations
  • Ability to learn quickly in a short amount of time.  
  • Must maintain an organized work area from a home office that allows for quick and efficient responses to the customer needs.
  • Very Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint a must.

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree desired, preferably in Business or Engineering and OR 7+ years of experience in the commercial vehicle industry, or related field, with proven successful track record. 
  • MBA a plus.
     

Travel Requirements:

 

  • Individual must be domiciled in the defined region and must be located within one hour of major airport
  • Must be capable of traveling 60-70% of the time to fleets, dealerships, distributors, Bendix HQ’s and trade associations.
